Privacy Policy for Pixel Perfect

Pixel Perfect ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Function Labs. It is an AI photo editing app that helps users create professional headshots, profile upgrades, cinematic portraits, and advanced AI photo edits. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use the Pixel Perfect app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

a) Images and User Content

Pixel Perfect allows users to voluntarily upload photographs that may contain human faces. The app does not collect biometric identifiers, facial recognition templates, facial geometry measurements, or any data used to uniquely identify an individual. The only face-related information processed is the image content voluntarily provided by the user.

b) Account Data

If you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address and login ID
• Purchase history and credit balance
• Saved creations and generation history
• Support messages
• App usage events (e.g., generations, button taps)

c) Usage and Diagnostics Data

We may collect limited technical data such as:

• Device type
• App usage interactions and product interaction data
• Error and crash logs (diagnostics data)
• Performance data

2. Data Flow and AI Image Processing

How your data flows:

Pixel Perfect is a creative AI image editing tool. Images uploaded by users may contain faces. Images uploaded by users may contain facial information. Such images are processed solely to provide the requested AI image-editing services. We do not use facial information for identification, authentication, profiling, or tracking. Images are shared only with service providers necessary to perform the requested AI processing and are retained only for the period necessary to provide the service.

We do not use your uploaded photos to train our own AI models.

• We do not perform facial recognition, biometric identification, or face tracking.
• We do not extract or store biometric identifiers from any images.
• We do not use face data to uniquely identify any individual.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data only to:

• Provide and operate app features (app functionality)
• Process image editing requests
• Improve performance and reliability (analytics)
• Ensure safety and prevent misuse
• Process in-app purchases and manage credit balances

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Explicit Active Consent Required: Before sending your image to any AI processing provider, you will be shown a clear consent dialog explaining that your photo will be sent to Replicate, Inc. for processing. You must actively click "I Agree" to proceed — consent is never assumed, pre-ticked, or auto-accepted. You can always decline and use alternative tools instead.

User-submitted images are securely transmitted to third-party AI processing providers solely for the purpose of generating the requested output. These providers act only as image-processing services and do not receive permission to use uploaded images for independent purposes. Images may be temporarily stored on secure cloud infrastructure used by these providers during processing.

• Images (including any face data) are only shared with third-party services for the purpose of generating requested outputs.
• No data is shared for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
• Third-party AI providers are contractually required to handle data securely and only for intended purposes.

5. Data Retention

Pixel Perfect does not maintain a permanent database of face data and does not retain facial information longer than required for processing and service delivery.

• Generated and edited images can be stored in your account library so you can access them within the app. You can delete saved creations at any time, which removes the database reference immediately. Deleting an image removes it from your library; your storage provider may retain the file briefly for processing.
• Your first welcome-credit generation produces a clean image without a watermark. Subsequent generations include a small watermark, which can be removed by spending an additional credit. Watermark removal is applied per image.
• Uploaded source images are processed by third-party AI providers to produce your requested output. The database reference to the source image is retained in your generation history.
• When you delete your account, all database records associated with your account (projects, generations, credit history, preferences) are permanently removed. Financial transaction records are retained with personal identifiers anonymised, as required for accounting and tax compliance.
• Database references to uploaded source images and generated image files are removed immediately upon account deletion. However, the underlying cloud storage files may remain until they are purged by the storage provider or an administrator.
• Deleted file URLs are placed into an administrative cleanup queue. Permanent storage deletion is not considered complete until confirmed by the storage provider. The target cleanup period is 30 days from deletion, after which the matter is escalated to the storage provider for manual removal.

6. Payments and In-App Purchases

For iOS purchases, payment data is handled by Apple. Pixel Perfect receives purchase confirmation and transaction data but does not store full card details. Paid credits are a one-time consumable purchase and do not expire. Refunds for iOS purchases are handled through Apple. For web purchases, payment is processed securely by Stripe.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data, including:

• Secure transmission (HTTPS)
• Controlled processing environments
• Limited access to data
• Private image URLs that are not publicly exposed

8. Children's Privacy

Pixel Perfect is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access your data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Object to processing

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by using the "Delete Account" feature in the app's Settings, or by contacting us at support@functionlabs.co.uk. Library images can be deleted directly within the app at any time.

10. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party services to provide functionality such as:

• AI image processing (Replicate)
• In-app purchases (Apple StoreKit / App Store)
• Web payments (Stripe)
• Analytics and crash diagnostics

These services are contractually required to handle data securely and only for intended purposes. They do not receive permission to use uploaded images for independent purposes, including advertising, profiling, or user tracking.

Third-party AI processing providers used by Pixel Perfect include:

• Replicate (replicate.com/privacy) — used for AI image generation, editing, and transformation features.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
